The Hanover – 230-Apartment Complex Project

The Hanover Project in Downtown ScottsdaleThe Scottsdale City Council approved a new downtown high-rise apartment building Tuesday that will bring about 230 luxury rental units and shops to a busy intersection.

The Hanover project at the northwest corner of Goldwater Boulevard and Indian School Road will consist of one main building that rises to five stories, or 65 feet in some places, along with a separate one-story commercial building along Fifth Avenue.

In addition to the apartments, there will be 31,000 square feet of retail on the main building’s first floor along Goldwater and Indian School. A public walking path between Indian School Road and Fifth Avenue and underground parking will also be included with the project.

The Hanover Project in Downtown ScottsdaleThe project will replace a Village Inn restaurant, Ramada Limited Scottsdale hotel, a two-story office building at the intersection and another commercial building fronting Fifth Avenue.

Hanover Co. managing partner Eric Kenney has said construction could start this summer and take about two years to complete. He said rents for the one- and two-bedroom units are projected to range from $1,800 to $6,500 a month.

Are you seeing a lack of rentals in Scottsdale? Vegas went through one last year, but several builders switched from condos to apartments and the lack of rentals quickly disappeared.
